BACKGROUND TO THE STRAW
The SOVT Vocal Straw
has been specifically engineered to enhance the vocal development benefits of straw phonation, enabling you to build vocal strength, gain vocal power without straining, and speak or sing with ease. SOVT stands for "Semi-Occluded Vocal Tract" - which is an elaborate way of saying that the mouth is partially occluded or closed.
As stated by the UK Founder of Rayvox and the developer of the SOVT Vocal Straw, Oren Boder, BSc(Hons) MBPsS DipLCM(TD) DipNYVC 25+ CPD
"We've taken care of the science, so you can take care of your voice!"
SOVT VOCAL STRAW FEATURES:
“ What can cause a voice problem? While most voice problems are caused by a combination of factors, the most common cause is ‘vocal load’ i.e. talking or singing for extended periods without giving the voice rest breaks, talking or singing over noise or without proper amplification, talking or singing when you have a throat infection or in a way that harms your voice.”

ONE STRAW - THREE LENGTHS
✅ Beneficial in addressing the tight feeling associated with vocal fatigue/voice strain - it's an "easy to use" hands-on tool that travels with you, in a small bag or pocket
✅ Useful as a warm up tool before speaking or singing - great for vocal coaches and singing teachers looking for ways to engage and support their students
✅ Adopted into a daily "recovery process" for a tired or hoarse voice after many hours of voice usage. For example, the SOVT straw can be used by performers, teachers, clinicians or other professional voice users
✅ Helpful for singers - work towards increasing your vocal range through short, "easy to implement" vocal straw exercises
✅ Protective against vocal habits which use excessive force - discover the sensation of speaking with a protective "air cushion" surrounding the vocal folds
✅ Included in a Vocal Hygiene Program - the straw can be used to develop healthy "diaphragmatic" breathing which may assist with breath support, relaxation and a reduction in signs and symptoms of anxiety

The SOVT Singing Straw is a precision engineered patent-pending vocal development tool designed to help singers enhance the benefits of straw phonation. With a minimum of 12 variable resistance configurations, the SOVT Straw enables easy rebalancing of air pressure and realignment the vocal folds, whilst also encouraging efficient vocal fold vibration to help singers vocalise with ease, gain vocal power without straining, and recover tired and fatigued voices.
